Defibrillator

We now have an important addition to our stock of tools – an “AED”. The AED was obtained through a grant award and was presented to The Shed by Adam Crouch MP – Member for Terrigal.

AED stands for Automated External Defibrillator, which is a device that detects lethal heart rhythms which stop the heart from pumping effectively, and then allows a rescuer to deliver a measured shock to a revert these rhythms, so the heart can pump effectively again.

Our sheddies or anyone visiting the Shed can now rest assured that immediate help is available, during that critical time before the ambulance arrives, should anyone be unfortunate to suffer a cardiac arrest .  All Sheddies have had training on the AED and how straightforward it is to use should it be necessary.
