The Annual General Meeting of the Terrigal Community Mens Shed was held on Thursday 20th July in the work area of the Shed. It was very well supported with the majority of members present. The President Geoff Yates gave a resume of the Sheds achievements for 2016/17 and thanked all those that have supported the shed in its numerous activities. The President was followed by the Secretary and Treasurer who delivered their report for the year. There were a number of resignations from existing executive and committee members which resulted in a number of Shed members stepping forward as nominees for the vacant positions. We now have an important addition to our stock of tools - an "AED". The AED was obtained through a grant award and was presented to The Shed by Adam Crouch MP - Member for Terrigal. AED stands for Automated External Defibrillator, which is a device that detects lethal heart rhythms which stop the heart from pumping effectively, and then allows a rescuer to deliver a measured shock to a revert these rhythms, so the heart can pump effectively again. Our sheddies or anyone visiting the Shed can now rest assured that immediate help is available, during that critical time before the ambulance arrives, should anyone be unfortunate to suffer a cardiac arrest .  All Sheddies have had training on the AED and how straightforward it is to use should…
